Is this mindset holding you back from healthy eating?
Have you ever googled “healthy woman’s body” to see what comes up? The funny thing is, you probably don’t have to. From fashion magazines to social media influencers, the images we see are frequently edited, airbrushed, and filtered to fit a narrow standard of beauty.
The representation of a “healthy” woman’s body is often misrepresented and unrealistic.
Does anyone else find photos of (typically thin, white) women eating salads with no dressing or smiling while taking a bite of a large raw vegetable (who does this?!) kind of disturbing…if not, sort of corny? Personally, I love salads, but it’s not the only healthy meal option out there. And let’s be real, I definitely wouldn’t be smiling if my salad was dry AF.
Starting a healthy eating journey can feel daunting, especially when black-and-white thinking comes into play. Many people believe they need to follow a perfect diet, cutting out entire food groups, and overthinking every meal. This all-or-nothing mindset can cause unnecessary stress and distract you from focusing on what truly matters.
What if you start to take a different approach?
Instead of labeling food as “good” or “bad,” understand that individual foods aren’t inherently good or bad. It’s more about how they fit into your overall diet, lifestyle, and goals.
Challenge the black-and-white thinking and consider the gray areas — maybe even add some color!
Instead of aiming for perfection, get creative with your meals. Learn how to modify instead of eliminate. Start adding more nutrient dense foods. Add some flavor, color, texture.
So, what does health and fitness look like to you?
Own that vision so no one else can define it for you.
You get to decide.

Will forever be that b*tch.
